Summer Courses
The summer course spans five weeks, commencing in July and concluding in August. Each day is thoughtfully structured, from 08:20 to 17:00, with regular intervals for the children's rest. This comprehensive schedule accommodates two distinct classes: one tailored for Year 4 students and the other dedicated to Year 5 students.
For Year 4 attendees, the course unfolds over a fortnight, encompassing a dual objective of revisiting pivotal Year 4 concepts while simultaneously laying the groundwork for Year 5 curriculum. Here, pupils are introduced to the concept of timed assessments, encouraged to discern areas of strength, and identify topics warranting additional support. Parents are furnished with meticulous performance feedback, shedding light on suitability for the SET and independent school selection procedures.
In the case of Year 5 participants, the course spans the entire five-week period. A comprehensive revision of the Year 5 syllabus is undertaken, augmented by extensive mock test practice. Diverse sets of papers, varying in length, format, and style, are meticulously presented. Over the course of time, our institution has diligently ensured that Year 5 pupils are well-versed with an array of paper formats, negating any potential surprises from unfamiliar styles. This versatile approach cultivates the capacity to apply learned skills to any paper format, fostering confidence and competence. The heartening testimonials from previous participants substantiate the inherent enjoyment experienced throughout the course, despite the rigorous academic exertions.
Without a doubt, the course demands intensity and flourishes through a tripartite commitment involving our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and motivated children. As a culminating push prior to the SET, the August Course has garnered substantial popularity. We therefore encourage early expression of interest, considering the course's anticipated demand.
